The Church of England has provided a prayer following the sad news of the death of Her Majesty the Queen, as we join together in remembrance:
Gracious God, we give thanks
for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,
for her faith and her dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death
and may her example continue to inspire us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
On Friday 9th September, St Mary’s Church will join together with churches across the UK to toll their bells to mark the death of the Sovereign Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This is one of the rare occasions where fully muffled bells are sounded (a technique used to create an echo).
